The Brief
Recruiters read the top of your profile. Your proof lives at the bottom.
Reorder your strongest evidence so the first ten seconds earn the next ten.
The most common profile failure I see is inversion: the strongest evidence buried where nobody scrolls, the generic material on top.
A shipped app with real users, a 40% build-time improvement, a system other teams adopted, and it sits mid-About or in a project list, while the headline says a skills list every engineer in your field also claims.
The ten-second test: open your profile and read only the headline and first two lines of the About. If a stranger cannot tell what you are unusually good at from those lines alone, the rest never gets read.
The fix is reordering, not rewriting. Lead with the one thing you have done that most peers have not. Numbers beat adjectives. Shipped beats worked on. Named beats vague.
Your profile is read by someone deciding whether to keep reading. Make the first ten seconds do the work.
