Use this in practice

Record one practice round and score only what became visible. Correct reasoning that stayed in your head cannot enter the interview packet.

Before typing

Name the ambiguity that changes the design.
State the working assumption if the interviewer leaves the choice with you.
Describe the smallest correct version you intend to build first.

While building

Explain only decisions with a real cost: choice, reason and tradeoff.
Name the state owner and the lifecycle that can invalidate the work.
Say what result would disprove the current approach before running it.

When the approach breaks

Stop repeating the same assumption.
Reduce the problem to the smallest failing case.
State what a hint changed and which part of the previous model was wrong.
Finish with what works, what was verified and what remains unsafe.
